Assessment of Student Progress
Students' progress is monitored on a daily basis. We use several layers of assessments, formal and informal, to monitor students. Teachers monitor and adjust on a daily basis within the classroom to ensure understanding of concepts and skills taught. If more assistance is needed, the classroom teacher does a direct intervention with the individual student for a discrete period of time. If more intervention is needed, the classroom teacher will contact the parents to discuss the progress and what assistance can be helpful from home. A team of educators will discuss and determine what further interventions will be put into place. One of the additional interventions may be a specialist in the subject area that will assist in the instruction. Each step of this process has a time line and is closely monitored by the classroom teacher and the intervention team.
